Tepper Holdings Inc is pleased to announce, along with its related company, The Fastfrate Group, has donated $1 million to the Audrey’s Place charity foundation.
Through a $500,000 donation from each company, Tepper Holdings and Fastfrate contributed to supporting students studying at the University of Toronto’s Lawrence S Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing. This charitable effort represents a third $500,000 donation made by Fastfrate Group to Audrey’s Place Foundation, following contributions in October 2021 and October 2022.
The previous donations were made to University Health Network and Southlake’s Stronach Regional Cancer Centre with the intention of serving the same goal, offering undergraduate nursing students the means to pursue their paths to success in becoming fully fledged nurses in the Canadian Healthcare System.
Nurses are the foundation of any country's medical field, and their importance is undeniable as they provide vital care and support to the elderly and the infirm. At Tepper Holdings, we understand that Canada needs all the help it can get when it comes to providing adequate care to its growing population. Many hospitals are short on staff and deeply underfunded and Tepper Holdings has recognized that only through acts of charity like this can our healthcare truly attend the masses just as it was intended.
“We are honored to continue our support for Audrey’s Place Foundation and these nursing scholarships,” said Manny Calandrino, chief executive officer of Fastfrate Group. “Investing in the future of healthcare by helping nursing students pursue their education is a responsibility we take seriously. These students represent the next generation of caregivers, and we are proud to contribute to their success”.
Founder of Audrey’s Place Foundation, Audrey Tepper, added, “At Audrey’s Place Foundation, we believe in empowering individuals who will make a meaningful impact in our communities. These nursing scholarships embody our commitment to supporting healthcare through education. We are incredibly grateful to Fastfrate Group and Tepper Holdings for their ongoing generosity which will help nursing students achieve their dreams and strengthen our healthcare system.” “These students deserve a chance to access the education they need to join the nursing field without being encumbered by student debt.” Addie Tepper declared, “We are deeply appreciative of all the hard work that goes into the day-to-day operations nurses carry out. At Audrey’s Place Foundation, we respect the amount of dedication nurses offer to their patients through careful preparation and procedures, many of which are strenuous and challenging. We at Audrey’s Place understand the scarcity of nurses and hope to make a positive change. After all, nurses are the lifeblood of the medical force. Therefore we are pleased to be able to afford nursing students the opportunity to pursue their passions without the financial strain of tuition expenses. Our burgeoning healthcare system is vital to the safety of Canadian citizens who depend on the plethora of care and support to survive. Whether it's through administering life-saving prescription medication or performing intensive surgeries, we Canadians owe our lives to the many dutiful men and women who call themselves nurses. Without their care and support, none of us could do the same. Therefore, we are grateful that we have the capacity to make a difference. A positive impact that will make our country stronger and healthier, one nurse at a time.
